Milwaukee, we love this city.
We enjoy its diverse neighborhoods, shops, restaurants, bars, breweries, festivals and live music.
It has always been important to us to support small businesses. One of our favorite ways to do this is to shop all of the local vendor fairs. The things we purchase hold special meaning because they are made with care by real people within our own community. Our passion for authentic American craftsmanship fuels our store, LOCALmke.
What began as Dan's dream to open an acoustic guitar boutique has grown into an adventurously curated shop that showcases American makers working in all mediums. Our inventory changes frequently as our artists work in small batches and are continuously churning up new creations. We are endlessly impressed by the talent of the folks in this community.
We know where our products come from and who makes them. These artists become our friends and sometimes even feel like family. Frankly, we do a little happy dance every time we make a sale because we know it directly supports the livelihood of our makers. All of our goods are created in America, by real people, with real lives and unique stories of how they are pursuing their dreams. You'll recognize the personal touch present in each piece featured in our shop. Thank you for supporting the Maker Movement with us.

GET IN TOUCH
FOR THE MAKERS
Curious about joining our family of makers? We'd love to hear from you.
What type of products do we look for?
Well-designed handmade goods that are durable, functional, and honor the ideals of American craftsmanship. We are careful not to duplicate product styles already present in our shop. Space is limited and intentionally curated. Preference is given to Wisconsin artisans but we do welcome work from all 50 states. If we love it, we want it in our shop!
How does it work?
We accept merchandise through consignment and wholesale. Consignment work is sold on a 60/40 basis with 60% of the sales paid out to the artist monthly.
When will you hear back?
We try to review applications each month but we're a very small business. Please be patient with us. We will respond to you if we feel your work is a good fit for our shop. We do not like to tell anyone "no" because we do go back and review applications as our needs grow and change.
